AT THE END OF THE FIVE-WEEK CHALLENGE:
There are 3 levels. Below are the goals for the number of books you need to read each week to achieve each level. If you score below an 80% on a test, read another book and quiz again. You can earn a total of 3 Brag Tags, 3 Treats, 2 Prize Box prizes, and one item from the Cougar Market.

*Level 1= 10 points or 10 quizzes
Scoring 80% or higher on each quiz = 1 Brag Tag
You need to earn an 80% or better on each quiz.
*Level 2: 20 points or 20 quizzes
Scoring 80% or higher on each quiz = 1 Brag Tag & treat
*Level 3: 30 points or 30 quizzes
Scoring 80% or higher on each quiz = 1 Brag Tag & 1 prize box, 1 treat
*Level 4: 40 points or 40 quizzes
Scoring 80% or higher on each quiz = 1 Brag tag, 1 prize box, 2 treats
*Level 5: 50 Points or 50 quizzes
Scoring 80% or higher on each quiz = 1 Brag tag, 1 prize box, 2 treats, 1 Cougar Market prize
Notes: All quizzes must be recorded on Student Reading Log.
An 85% or higher average at the end of the five-week challenge is required.

100% Scorecards: After earning twenty 100s, students choose a prize from the Treasure Box for their hard work. For the second nine weeks, we will be celebrating all our KES students that earn their AR points and have an 85% or better challenge.
Brag Tags: Students earn a Brag Tag when they have met their AR goals. They earn a bead for having an 80% or better average on their tests. Points are checked at the interim and then, the end of the nine weeks.
2nd Nine Week Challenge: Every student that earns their AR points and have an 85%, will be able to pick a prize. Prizes include Novelty Pens, like Dogman and Unicorn Pens, Hot Wheels Cars, books, and/or toys. Students will be recognized on the Morning News Show for their hard work and effort.
Top Grade Level Readers: Students with the most points and percentage for each grade level, including ELearners, will have their picture taken and put on the bulletin board in the Media Center. Students will be recognized on the Morning News Show for their hard work and effort.
Sunshine State Readers: Second through Fifth Graders can participate in the Sunshine State Readers Club. Students are required to read as many books as possible, there are 15 titles on the book award list, and will earn a certificate at the end of the year. If permitted, we will have an end of the year celebration.
PLUS: All Polk County students can have books mailed to their homes using PLUS. For more information, call or email the library media specialist at your school.
